Half A Love - Chap 5

Jimin’s POV

I checked my phone a multiple times, to see if she messaged me. Wait, why am I even so concerned about that? She will reply, why am I being so impatient geez, as if I’m her boyfriend…GOD JIMIN STOP!!

“Good morning everyone” I heard her voice. That sweet, warm voice. Why did that bring a smile on my face?

“Oh..Hi…” she said looking towards me.

“Hey!” I said with a smile, though I was panicking inside. Jimin, seriously what is wrong with you?! I thought.

After hearing that she gave a weak smile and turned away and went to her office. Oh well…i guess we aren’t that of good friends….yet.

After around 10 minutes:

One of the head directors came and said, “Attention everybody! As you all are a mix of different majors like psychology and engineering as well as business and arts, we are going to make you all work together so you will all have the experience of exploring in a first hand workplace and how to do your tasks by working as a team. So please take this seriously and of course be nice to one another okay?”

Hearing that everyone gave a tensed laughter but all in all we all knew this was coming. I just didn’t know that I would be working with her though.. hmm…

Our first project was already announced and we were all grouped already. I of course was already chosen with Avery and the reason was because we had the one similar interest, Arts. Though she’s a psychology major and I’m an engineering student, we still had one passion in common.

We had to come up with an idea for our project, but that seemed harder than I thought..

“No no,” Avery exclaimed, “that seems to complicated. How about we do something related to human emotions and feelings?”

“Umm…im not really sure about that. How can we build something that show human emotions, I mean machines are emotionless!”

“That’s the challenge, Jimin! I think it would work..if you don’t like it then u can change the group and work with someone else,” Avery said in sternly and was about to walk away when suddenly, without my intention I grabbed her hand and said, ”Wait! Fine! Yes we can go with your idea..”

“You sure?” Avery said looking straight into my eyes.

“Yes, I trust you so I’m sure.”

Avery’s POV:

He removed his hand after he said he’s sure and I kind of lost balance because of his sudden gesture…and before I even fell, I was in his arms.

“You alright Avery? Jimin hold me tight, with concern in his eyes.

“Yea-Yeah I’m okay, thanks” as I removed his hand, feeling awkward and got up. “So, umm when do you want to start working on this then?” I changed the subject right away.

“I guess now? We need to start planning the blue-print for the machine and also how we are going to bring feelings or whatever to it?” Jimin said in a rather sarcastic tone.

I don’t get this kid, I thought. One second he acts all nice and concerned and the other second he is all cocky and mean…are all boys like this?!

Author’s POV:

Avery and Jimin went to the design lab room, where they planned to discuss the blue-print for the machine. It was rather awkward because there was no one besides the two of them..

“So you’re the engineer here, I guess you should teach me how this whole idea works and how to assemble them and the measurements and stuff like that,” Avery said in a joking way.

“Well yeah, of course I HAVE to teach you that. At least you’re good in art or else this project would be even tougher for me…”

“Gosh, Jimin when did you become so cocky?” Avery said rolling her eyes, “Alright teach me then.”

“Well okay first you got to know what parts you want, and we need to build them out, and also know what materials to use..” And Jimin continued to talk about the plan while Avery listened to him with full focus.

After couple of minutes of discussions, they finally started to get to work..

Both were working their respective parts on the blue print, but both Avery and Jimin could feel the tension. The slight glances and the nervous sweats were pretty common between them now. Finally to break the dead, awkward silence, Jimin said, “So umm.. after we are done for this, do you want to go for coffee later?”

What will Avery’s answer be? Is Jimin planning something? What are his intentions? Well to find out, stay tuned!! ;)
