Half A Love - Chap. 4

“Did I really see him?” Avery thought, while staring at her computer screen. “Oh whatever, it’s not like I’ll see him often anyway, plus I’m over him, I have too..” she thought with a sigh and planned to sleep because she has to wake up early the next morning for her internship.

Right as she lay in her bed, her phone beeped.

“Hey.” It said. It was a message from an unknown number.

“Who is this?” she replied back, Avery wasn’t really paying attention to it even if it was unusual to receive a message from an unknown number.

“Jimin. Can we talk?” it said.

“HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!” Avery thought. “HOW DID HE GET MY NUMBER?” Avery got up and traced back and forth trying to figure out how he got her number. She rechecked her phone and read the message out loud again, “JIMIN. CAN WE TALK?”

“NOO!” she exclaimed loudly and fell on the bed, covering her face with the pillow.

“Hey?” her phone beeped again.

She didn’t reply to him. She closed her eyes and ended up falling asleep instead….

The Next Morning:

Avery sprang up as if she saw a bad dream. She checked her clock, it was just 8:30 am. Her internship starts not until another two hours so she thought of sleeping a little bit more again.

Once again right as she was trailing back to sleep, her phone beeped.

“Seriously” she got annoyed.

“Good morning Avery. Can we please talk? Its important.” It read, and it was from Jimin of course.

“Oh nooo..” Avery was in the verge of crying. “What does he want now? Why is he texting me now, after all this time? With all the guts she had she finally decided to reply back to him.

“Oh hey Jimin. Sorry I fell asleep yesterday so I couldn’t reply. Yeah sure, what’s up?” She stared at that message for like probably 10 minutes before sending it. “Ok whatever” she said out loud and took a deep breath and sent it. Within 20 seconds by sending it, her phone rang.

“Oh SHIT!” she exclaimed out loud. Jimin was calling her, Avery’s heart was beating so fast. “What do I say? Oh my god!” She took another deep breath and finally answered the call.

“Hello?” Jimin’s husky voice, already killed Avery.

“Um Hi.” Avery said shyly.

“Avery, umm..there’s something I need to talk to you about..”

“Oh..what is it Jimin?” Avery never felt this nervous in her entire life. *Oh god oh god oh god* that thought was running in her head.

“Well, as you know your internship is held in my college and they are helping with the funds and all that so umm..the professors wanted some of the students from my college to volunteer as well. They wanted me to join so I did and umm..they placed me in the same department you are interning in…” and he trailed of..

“Oh…okayyy.. so that means I have to see you everyday for 3 months??” Avery said that in a quite embarrassing way.

“Yeah, umm…if you don’t want to though, I can ask them to replace me..that why I wanted to talk to you about this and let you know so..”

“Oh no no, I am okay with it! Don’t worry about it! Haha!” Avery said with a fake laugh, trying to sound cheerful and normal, though inside she was shattered into pieces.

“Cool then! I will see you in two hours, bye!”

“Okay, bye!” and Avery hung up. *Damn why does this have to happen to me? What did I do to deserve this kind of emotional torture? Whatever, I am over him, I can face this* Avery lied..

Is she really over him? How will she react when she finds out that Jimin knows about her feelings and about the letter? What will happen when they meet again? Well, to find out stay tuned!! ;)
